Mawlid (arab. مَوْلِدُ آلنَبِيِّ, maulid-un-nabi) It is held on the 12th day of the third month of the Muslim lunar calendar. In some Muslim countries, it is celebrated quite magnificently and throughout the month: posters with verses from the Holy Quran are hung in cities, people gather in mosques, religious chants (nasheeds) are sung, sermons are read about the life of the Prophet Muhammad S.A.V.
